Border Collie Mix!, Dog of the Week, Mouthy?
And the dog of the week is….
Its Si-Si!
Oh, Sierra! She’s a special dog, and we’re all glad we know her and that she knows us!
Sierra has a lot of friends, as you might have imagined.
Sierra is rather fond of Fiona, for example.
And she and Darwin like to play a lot.
Sierra is a cuddle bug at heart, and she likes to hang around the dog handler(s) at times to get attention. Some dogs will stare at you or maybe poke you for attention. She likes to bury her face in your legs. It’s awfully cute.
She also likes to cuddle with dogs. Like A LOT.
Sierra loves her a good cuddle.
Her very most favorite cuddle buddy is Olive.

Here is a video of it. We catch these two loving on each other a lot.
Actually, Sierra sometimes get bored with just cuddling with Olive, but Olive tends to resist her attempts to get her to play.

Sierra is, how should we put it… Mouthy? Some dogs play loud, and Sierra is one of those dogs.
As a Border Collie mix, she also tends to want to make running dogs stop all that running, i.e., she has some herding instincts. Makes her a good chaser for dogs that like to be chased. Luckily, she also comes when you call her, so if a dog doesn’t like to be chased the handler in the playgroup just has to call her, and she’ll promptly run her face right into you for some more petting action!

Age: 2-and-a-half-ish
Weight: 45 lbs.
First Time at DGI: July 13, 2017
Shedding: Yep. She can drop a hair with the best of them. Well, maybe not THE BEST of them, but she is pretty proficient.
Nickname(s): Si-si (Pronounced See-see), Si-si-bee (stands for Si-si-baby). Side note: We sing at her name at her. Other “Sierraaaa” like at the beginning of “1, 2 Step” or else “Si-erra, erra, erra…” to the tune of a Rihanna song.
Best Friends: Olive. Golden Retriever Olive, that is. We have a few Olives. She is also friends with Darwin (Chocolate Lab), Darwin (Great Dane), Fiona, many others, but Olive is her best friend.
Funny Story: Sierra and her mom have a ritual when she gets picked up. We let Sierra run out of the door on her own, and she runs right at her mom, and… well, just watch it.
