This week, we travel back over to the small dog playgroup at Dawg Gone It to introduce you to a small dog with a huge heart and boundless energy: IZZY!

CHEESE! No, really, I would like some cheese if you have some.

Izzy has been a regular for some time now, and she is a VERY popular girl. She seems to have a sense for how other dogs want to play, and she’ll adapt to it, meaning she can play with the tiniest gentlest dogs, but she is more than a match for the fastest most energetic dogs. When she comes to daycare, her dad adds on a walk over lunch break because she just has so much energy she needs as much exercise as she can get.

Jack Russell has lots of friends at Dawg Gone It dog kennel in Monterey,

Did I wear everyone else out already? CMON, LETS RUN!

While she has tons of friends of all sizes and shapes, her very best friend is Tessa. The two of them usually pair off and play as soon as they’re both there, and that continues until Tessa is exhausted and Izzy has to find someone else to run with. However, Izzy will come back later to take a nap with her.

Here they are!

We talk about Izzy’s energy, but you really have to see it, so here you go!

Stats

Breed: Jack Russell Mix
Age: 3 years old, but almost 4!
Weight: 25 lbs.
First Time at DGI: March 10, 2015
Shedding: Sure, but her fur isn’t super long, so it isn’t as big a deal as some dogs.
Nickname(s): Izz, Izz-Face, Eddie Izzard, Izzard the Gizzard
Best Friends: Tessa, Ivy, Leonardo, Tobi, Hime, Flower, Seska, Tanner…
Funny Story: Izzy is a funny dog. She has all sorts of little quirks, too many to go into in full. Like, for example, when she first comes in she gets REAL loud until she gets into the daycare room. She is not happy unless she is there.

Or, when she comes in for lodging, her dad gets all sneaky. She loves Dawg Gone It, but she LOVES her dad, so he drops her off as if it is a daycare visit, then when she is in the playroom he sneaks in her bed/food/toys so that she won’t know she’s lodging until the end of the day.

Or, another example, when she likes someone, be they man or dog, when she first sees them she’ll run at them full speed, fling herself at them, and come to a stop by sort of stomping on your leg (or chest for dogs) with both front paws. Not in a way that hurts or anything, more like a “hey there, slugger, it’s good to see ya!” slap on the back, punch on the shoulder, nudge nudge. You know. She’s a pal.

And, just to repeat it, the ENERGY this dog has. We wish we had energy like Izzy.

No really, you guys, I could do this all day long.
