ABOUT US

Dawg Gone It is a fun, safe multi-service pet facility catering to all your dog’s needs while you are away. At Dawg Gone It we strive to give your pet the very best in daycare and overnight lodging. Our courteous, knowledgeable and friendly staff will ensure that you leave your pet knowing he or she will have a great stay away from home.

Founded in 2009, Dawg Gone It is a fully indoor facility with more than 8,000 square feet of space devoted exclusively to dog daycare and lodging. This includes 3,000+ square feet of indoor playrooms that let your dog have a great time while you are away.

Dawg Gone It is entirely a “suites” facility, meaning that all dogs lodging with us have well-appointed, private suites that they stay in when they’re not playing, out for a walk, etc. We have suites of different sizes to accommodate different sizes of dogs, and suite doors are swinging doors with tempered glass to allow us to easily monitor all dogs staying with us.

Your dog (or dogs, if you have more than one) stay in their own room, and you can bring along belongings to make them comfortable, like a bed or a favorite toy. This provides a much more comfortable experience for your dog versus sleeping in a crate or stacked cubicles.

Dawg Gone It provides a water bowl and a cot for all dogs, although if you bring your own bed, we sometimes remove the cot to allow more floor space, like this family of four.

Our Staff

Stephanie and Rob, Owners

Stephanie and Rob have been operating Dawg Gone It since February 2016. Stephanie was a DGI employee prior to that and has been working in dog daycare and lodging since early 2014. In addition to her experience in daycare and lodging, she has been a volunteer for animal rescue organizations for over 10 years and is certified in pet first aid and CPR. She is at DGI most days, and Rob helps out mostly on the weekends.

Stephanie, Rob, their 2 rescue dogs (Surf and Rufus), and their cat (Baxter), live in Monterey. Stephanie is bilingual (English and French), so surprise her and practice your français when you see her.

Our Founder – Wayne Ragen

Wayne has loved dogs his entire life. From his very earliest childhood memories a dog has always been by his side. His love of animals led him to a 26-year career caring for and training lions and tigers. His fascination of pride dynamics was a natural lead in to the dynamics of pack behavior. This combination of animal husbandry skills, training, and a never ending love of dogs helped Wayne found Dawg Gone It as an organization that always puts the needs of dogs first.
